Dean's message

Dear students,

The word "Mühendis" (engineer) originates from the Arabic word "hendese," which means geometry or generally science. "Mü-hendese" signifies someone who knows geometry or science in general.

In the modern sense, an engineer is someone who transforms theoretical knowledge produced by scientists into practical knowledge that technicians and craftsmen can apply. They are responsible for producing and improving new systems for human use based on technical, mathematical, and social data. Engineers work in various fields to analyze, develop, and evaluate large-scale, complex systems.

The foundation of an engineering profession relies on innovative design for sustainable and economic solutions, and an engineer utilizes scientific principles to achieve these goals. An engineer must possess the essential skills of problem identification, analytical thinking, and solution generation.

The engineering departments within our faculty, along with their young and dynamic academic staff, course contents, and laboratory infrastructure, aim to prepare you for the industry as highly skilled engineers capable of applying theoretical knowledge effectively. In line with this goal, our faculty continues its activities with a vision of continuous improvement as part of our university's quality mission. Within this framework, the accreditation evaluation processes by MÜDEK continue at full speed in our faculty departments.

While we proudly observe our graduates pursuing their professional lives as competent professionals in their fields, we also expect you to choose us under the roof of Trakya University Faculty of Engineering to train you as contemporary engineers, and I wish your choices to be beneficial to you, your family, and our country.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the academics contributing to our engineering education, our administrative staff, and especially to our students whom we are proud of for their contemporary, qualified, and curious nature in choosing our faculty.
